Poulsbo, two weeks and counting

We cruised up to Poulsbo for the RHYC business meeting on Thursday. We left early to beat the forcast high winds and snow. Yep, snow on April 18th is predicted. Last week we had sun and 86 degrees at the house and this week we are supposed to get snow. It better figure out what spring is supposed to look like in the next two weeks before we leave for Alaska.

Everything is working, this is the only real shake down cruise we have before we leave. Next week we haul it out to clean the bottom, measure the props for spares and install a through hull for the new fish finder and Spurs for the shafts just in case we find a floating net or something up north. We had them on the old Californian and they worked like a charm. How do I know, cause I backed over the kayak tow rope one day and cut them free without wrapping the line in the props. That would qualify for a screw up award but the statute of limitations has run on that one so I should be safe and I don't think I was a club member when I did that.

Only other things left to do can be done while were floating.
Fuel prices keep going up, were over $4 a gallon now so it looks like the fuel budget calculations will be a bit low at this rate. Hope it stops pretty quick or we might not make it home. May have to find odd jobs on the way north to pay our way but it won't get cheaper so what they heck.

Hey, the sun is out and the temperature is a whopping 45 now.
